About Me
- Sharon Astyk
- I'm a 35 year old writer and subsistence farmer, author of two forthcoming books on Peak Oil and Climate Change _Depletion and Abundance: Life on the New Home Front_ (Fall '08) and _A Nation of Farmers (And Cooks)_ (Spring '09) the latter co-authored with Aaron Newton. Both books are forthcoming from New Society Publishers. I used to run a small, Jewish themed CSA, but now we're concentrating on subsistence agriculture, growing food and teaching others to grow food. My training was in literature, focusing on the Renaissance and demographic and cultural crises of the 17th century. I've switched to focusing on the demographic and cultural crises of the 21st century for the moment, but retain an interest in all things literary. In my spare time (of which there isn't much), my husband Eric and I are raising Eli (7 1/2), Simon (6), Isaiah (4) and Asher (2), and assorted critters and livestock, building an agrarian future.

Safari can't find it. I'm heading over to Firefox and I'll let you know if that does it. I will be so disappointed if I can't find you!
Sharon-- I've tried it through Safari and also through Firefox. Tried clicking the link from your blog, and also typing the address in myself. I can't reach your new site. I'm on a Mac, if that is a clue. I hope you can get the glitch worked out so I can congratulate you properly on your new site!
Hi folks - sorry for the difficulties. I have no idea why that would be, but I'm asking the person who set up the site to look into it.

I know that since it's late (or, rather, early), that it's probably easier to load - less people trying to access and whatnot. But I use Firefox on Windows and didn't have a problem.
Congrats on the new site, by the way, and look forward to reading more over there!
According to my Web Goddess Deb, the problem isn't on the technical side - probably only a matter of ISPs not updating. I posted this message just as soon as teh site was fully up, so it may take a little time for everything to settle out.

Link works fine for me. I don't know if that's because it's been fixed, or if it's just a part of the mystery of it all...
It is a shame to stop posting on any blog and I always find it a little sad, mine on homebase garden furniture is moving and I actually took it down before I lest it.
