This is my latest bit, on what I'd like to call the "Slow Clothing" revolution. You cannot overthrow the government while wearing BVDs from Walmart - you just can't.

  1. You can purchase patterns for undergarments but you can also make patterns from a garment itself. You can take apart a garment and trace it make sure you add seam allowances. You can also trace parts of a garment intact. But you should fold your tracing to make both side the same ie you trace a skirt front 11 but you know when you trace free hand on side's lines won't be quite the same so fold it to even up the sides or simply fold the fabric and use 1/2 pattern which is what many purchased patterns are.
    If the garment has an elastic top like undies you need to cut the undies full size not squeezed in by the elastic.
